Your last listening log assignment! Please complete the listening log found at this link:


Instructions:


Choose your own song for a listening log! The song you choose must meet the following criteria


  • 1) The song must contain something that you find interesting that you want to share with the class

  • 2) Have school-appropriate lyrics (this may get shown in class)

Answer the following questions about the form ONLINE. Make sure you have your answers before you start the form as you are not able to save the form and get back to it.


  • What is the name of the piece that you have picked?

  • Enter a link to the song

  • What style is your song? You may need to look it up.

  • What is another song that is in a similar style that lots of people might know? Enter a title AND link

  • What is the form of this song? (use words like intro, coda, verse, chorus, prechorus, bridge, instrumental, tag, solo, through sung, or the a-b-c system). List the order of this song

  • What is the background of this song? (Why was it written? Why did the artist record it? Was there a special event or circumstance? Ask the 5Ws.)

  • Which section of the song is the section you found interesting? Why? Use terms from your bank to describe the texture, rhythm, instrumentation, as well as adjectives. Be specific and thoughtful

Kitsilano Band – November 12, 2019, 6:00pm, District Festival

Call Time: 5:45pm

Location: 5025 Willow St, Vancouver, BC V5Z 3S1

Warm up time: 7pm


Materials: Choir Folder with music, Pencil

Dress: Formal black - pants/long skirt, black long-sleeved shirt, black dress shoes. A reminder: no sports wear is allowed. Guideline – opaque black from neck to toes! The school will provide a bow-tie


Instructions:

1) Head to the foyer to put down your coats and instruments and pick up your listening sheet. There should be signs or students to direct you. Please be prompt. We do not want to be the band causes all of the commotion in the back.


2) Find Ms.Lo and the rest of the group. Have a seat. Ms. Lo will inform you when it is time to go warm up and perform.


5) After we have performed, we will remain to hear the other groups until the conclusion of the evening, around 9-930pm. At the end, the adjudicators will give some overall comments that are important to hear. Please stay until the adjudicators have made their comments. If you need to leave early please make alternate arrangements with Ms. Lo


6) Make sure you have filled out your listening form and have a good night!
