Concert Band - Term 2 Assignment

Concert Band,

Your term 2 recording assignment is DUE FEBRUARY 28

1) Choose one etude from the BCMEA Honour Ensembles sheet. Music can be found here: http://bcmusiced.ca/ensembles/

2) Scales - PLEASE PLAY WITH METRONOME

• Chromatic scale, speeds and notes indicated on audition form

• Eb Major Scale - woodwinds at eighth note = 100, brass at eighth note = 80 (or 72 if necessary), two octaves, no thirds.

• Ab Major Scale - woodwinds at eighth note = 100, brass at eighth note = 80 (or 72 if necessary), two octaves for scale, one octave for the thirds.

Course Planning Night Details

Setup: 3:03pm. Come right after school

Call time: be in the band room by 4:45pm for warm up, rehearsal and last minute adjustments

Rep: Hail Kits, Entertainer, Looney Tunes, Balladair,

Schedule

5:15-5:35: Concert Band Plays until start of incoming gr.8 session 5:55pm to 6:15: Concert Band plays as incoming gr.8 parents split French/English. After playing, set up for Zoo and Jazz Band 6:35pm-6:55pm: Jazz Band Plays as grade 8/9 session switches with grade 10/11 sesssion 7:25-730pm: Contemporary Band Plays everyone out.
